Physical Education and Sports Institute
History
The Physical Education and Sports Institute of the KSU named after I. Arabaev was established on the basis of Order No. 10-8/308 dated June 6, 2016 as a Physical Education Division.
In 2021, the Department of Physical Education and its Teaching Techniques started working. On November 1, 2022 the Division was transformed as the Faculty of Physical Education. In 2024, by the decision of the Academic Council of KSU named after I. Arabaev, the faculty was transformed as the Physical Education and Sports Institute.
The main indicators of Physical Education and Sports Institute activity are human resources, educational and scientific-methodical work, research work, sports events, educational work, material and technical facilities, international co-operation, etc. Competence-based work programs and electronic lectures on the curriculum subjects of the specialty were created in order to improve the teaching of academic subjects at the Institute in all disciplines. Educational and methodological manuals and instructions for all sports in the subjects studied were elaborated in the state and official languages.
The educational activities of the institute have been modernized on the basis of modern educational technologies, taking into account the needs of society and the state for an appropriate level of development of physical education and sports. Modern scientific research and innovative laboratory facilities have been created to ensure a high level of research related to the scientific substantiation of the physical education system. The institute takes steps for promoting teaching staff professional development by creating conditions and attracting leading specialists in the field of physical education and sports on a systematic basis. The material and technical facilities of the Institute are improving from year to year.

The Institute functions in accordance with the State Higher Professional Education Standard in Major 532000 Physical Education and Sports.
The list of all ongoing educational programs (bachelor's degree, master's degree, postgraduate degree): The Institute implements the following educational programs: Physical Education and Sports; Physical Education Teacher, Pre-conscription Military Training.
Qualifications that graduates receive: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, postgraduate degree, secondary vocational education.

Departments, centers, laboratories – the Department of Physical Education and its Teaching Techniques, the interstructural Department of Physical Education, the Center for Physical Therapy.
Scientific Divisions
Scientific activities: A wide range of research focused on the social contribution of sport, considering sport as a context in which social, economic and cultural issues are addressed.
- Diagnosis of the functional state of athletes;
- rehabilitation activities within the framework of accompanying training camps;
- therapeutic and preventive measures for injuries of the musculoskeletal system;
- rehabilitation after injuries and operations on the musculoskeletal system;
- analytical research for athletes (video analysis, collection and analysis of competition and training process data, statistical research);
- medical and biological support of athletes' training process; - in-depth and ongoing medical examination, considering sports specialization
The main research areas of the Institute are implemented according to the specialty code 13.00.04 Theory and Methodology of Physical Education, Sports Training, Recreational and Adaptive Physical Culture.

The material and technical facilities meet the modern requirements for a university and provides the opportunity to carry out educational and training processes and research work, considering the specifics of the implemented basic and supplementary education programs.
