History
The Faculty of Oriental Studies and International Relations was established on July 15, 1998 with the aim of training highly qualified specialists in Oriental studies. Initially, the faculty was established in the form of a limited liability company, and on December 21, 2000 it was transformed into I. Arabaev KSPU Oriental Languages and Culture Institute. On November 16, 2005, the Oriental Languages and Culture Institute was renamed the Oriental Studies and Diplomacy Faculty (based on the order by the president of the I. Arabaev State University No. 278 dated November 11, 2005).
In 2007, the faculty was renamed the Oriental Studies and International Relations Faculty, which included the Journalism Department, Oriental Languages Department, Area Studies and Cultural Studies Department (based on the order by the rector of the I. Arabaev KSU No. 01-8/26 dated June 01, 2007). A special feature of the faculty is training specialists in the following areas with the study of one of the oriental languages (Chinese, Korean, Turkish, Persian, Arabic) and English as the main language.
On April 24, 2024, the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty was officially opened at the Sh. Kadyrova World Languages and International Relations Institute.
The opening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Du Dewen, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Rasul Avazbek uulu, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the delegation of Shandong Province and Chinese partners.
Progress
Aziza Abdrazakova, a student of the MO(a)-1-21 group, became the winner of the presidential scholarship. Bael Aibekov, a student of the MO(a)-1-23 group, became the winner of "The Best CIS Student" competition, held in Astana, for his contribution to the development of youth policy in the CIS countries. Asylai Minbaeva and Gulmira Erezhepali kyzy, who were elected representatives of the UN model, received certificates.

Student life
- KKF students Samira Esenbekova and Aigerim Murzabekova took part in the "XI Chinese Song Contest" organized by the Confucius Institute at K. Karasaev Bishkek State University and were awarded certificates of honor and encouraging prizes.
- Erezhepali kyzy Gulmira, a 2nd-year student of the International Relations major of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty, took part in the international Model UN Games and was awarded a certificate of honor.
- 2-3-year students took part in a guest lecture with the participation of the Ambassador of Ethiopia, held at the Diplomatic Academy.
- At the event "My nation is Kyrgyz, my motto is Manas, my pride is Chyngyz", where the president of the Manas National Academy, narrator Aziz Biimyrza uulu gave a guest lecture for students.
- The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Du Dewen, visited the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University and gave an open lecture for students.
- Студенты 1-3 курсов направления "Международные отношения" сдали тесты по китайскому языку HSK и HSKK и получили высокие баллы. Студентов готовят к национальному конкурсу китайского языка "Китайский мост".
- 1-3 year students in International Relations major passed the HSK and HSKK Chinese language tests and received high scores. Students are being prepared for the “Chinese Bridge” National Chinese Proficiency Competition.
