National contest on "Modern Methods of Teaching the State Language" held at KSU

On September 22, as part of the 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev and in honor of State Language Day (September 23), the final stage of the national contest titled "Modern Methods of Teaching the State Language" was held among higher and secondary vocational educational institutions.

The contest was jointly organized by the National Commission on the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic and Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev. Its goals included:

• Promoting the development of the state language in higher education,
• Expanding its use as a medium of instruction,
• Improving the quality of education in the state language,
• Identifying and promoting modern teaching methods for the state language.

Participants from universities and colleges across Kyrgyzstan took part and the jury selected winners in several categories:

Among Higher Education Institutions

1st Category: Teaching as a Native Language

 1st place – Suyita Kalmamatovna Jusueva, Senior Lecturer, Department of Kyrgyz Philology, Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (named after B. Sydykov)

 2nd place – Elnura Omurbekovna Kylychbaeva, Lecturer, Department of Modern Languages, International University of the Kyrgyz Republic

 3rd place – Perizat Abdysapar kyzy, Lecturer, Department of Kyrgyz Language and Literature, Talas State University

2nd Category: Teaching as a Second Language

 1st place – Meerim Bekbolotovna Sulaimankulova, Associate Professor, Department of Kyrgyz Language, Kyrgyz State Technical University (named after I. Razzakov)

 2nd place – Aynura Jumagul kyzy, Head of Department, PhD, Associate Professor, KSTU

 3rd place – Gulburak Seidalievna Bakirova, Senior Lecturer, Kyrgyz-Russian Faculty, Osh State Pedagogical University

3rd Category: Teaching as a Foreign Language

1st place – Jazgul Turatbek kyzy, PhD, Senior Lecturer, International Higher School of Medicine

2nd place – Gulbarchin Tayyrbekovna Kalenbekova, Senior Lecturer, Department of Kyrgyz Language and Literature, Zhusup Balasagyn Jalal-Abad State University

1st place – Asanbek Kadyrbekovich Arykbaev, Lecturer, Department of State Language, College of Osh State Pedagogical Institute

2nd place – Tamara Karymshak kyzy, Foreign Languages Department, College of World Languages and International Relations (named after Sh. Kadyrova), KSU

3rd place – Begaiym Abdugaparovna Baiyeva, Lecturer, Vocational College, Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University

Special Recognition Award:

Aizhan Askarbekovna Takabaeva – Lecturer, Humanitarian-Pedagogical College, I. Arabaev KSU

KSU Rector Professor Aigul Abdraeva congratulated the winners, emphasizing the importance of spreading modern methods and technologies in state-language education. Kutmyrza Jakiybaliev, Head of Department at the National Commission on the State Language, and Nurgul Rymbekova, Head of Official Publications at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, also offered congratulations and presented awards.

The event was organized by the T. Akhmatov Department of Kyrgyz Language and Teaching Technologies under KSU’s Institute of State Language and Culture.
